550% Market Growth Ahead: The eVTOL Market Is Projected to Hit $28.6 Billion by 2030.

Elon's flying Roadster just slipped again. Meanwhile, an eVTOL manufacturer opening its U.S. showroom in San Francisco in 2026 is running the 2010 Tesla playbook on personal flight... and its shares still trade privately, at $1.00.

Elon Musk Wants $50,000 Down for a Flying Car You May Never Actually See. This Startup Has Built and Flown 10 Full-Scale Prototypes of a Fully Electric, Two-Seat Personal Aircraft—and You Can Claim a Stake in the Company Itself for $967.

The flying Tesla was delayed… again.

You may have seen the story. The Roadster that Elon says will hover on SpaceX thrusters, the one he's been teasing since 2017, has now been delayed at least eight times.

It was set for April Fools' Day this year... then late April... then “maybe a month”... now the reports say 2027 or later.

Elon even joked about that April 1 date. “I have some deniability,” he told shareholders, “because I can say I was just kidding.”

Sam Altman gave up waiting. The OpenAI boss says he canceled the Roadster he ordered back in 2018... and got a bounced email when he tried to claim his $50,000 deposit.

Nine years, so far, of renderings and deposits.

I'm not knocking Elon. Hover thrusters are hard, even for a rocket guy.

But here's the thing... a flying machine is already flying.

AirCar Aero has built and flown 10 full-scale prototypes, with more than 1,000 manned test flights and the founder personally piloting the fleet.

It’s called the AirCar LightSport and is made by AirCar Aero. It has two seats, takes off straight up, flies for about 40 minutes, and covers roughly 50 miles (50–80 km) on a charge.

And here's the part that got me: the airframe is carbon fiber built in-house, the motors are 400V electric, and a fast charge takes about 15 minutes. The price is $99,000.

There is a second model too: the AirCar UltraLight at $49,000, which needs no pilot license or FAA certificate to fly, with pre-sales opening in January 2026.

AirCar LightSport — At a glance

A range of ~50 miles (50–80 km) per charge, 40 minutes of flight time, and a fast charge time of around 15 minutes. It seats two, takes off vertically straight up, and is built around an in-house carbon fiber airframe and 400V electric motors. Price: $99,000. The single-seat AirCar UltraLight is $49,000, needs no pilot license or FAA certificate to fly, and opens pre-sales in January 2026.

It felt familiar.

I kept thinking about 2010.

That was the year Tesla went public at $17 a share... while Detroit was calling electric cars glorified golf carts.

General Motors had already built an electric car, then killed the project. The industry knew the tech worked. It just decided nobody wanted to buy one.

Elon's insight was never about the electric battery. It was about desire. Make the car quick and beautiful, run it on software and park it in the buyer's own garage. Then the cost curve will take care of the rest.

And it worked. A $17 stake grew more than a hundredfold.

Put $1,000 into the Tesla IPO and hold it and you’d be sitting on roughly $250,000 right now…

So what’s the next big thing?

A lot of people think it's air taxis... little electric shuttles hopping between rooftop pads. Wall Street has poured billions into this idea.

And maybe they're right.

But an air taxi is a bus. You wait for it, you share it, and it comes when the schedule says so.

Air taxi vs. Personal aircraft

Air taxis are shared, bus-like vehicles that come on someone else's schedule, live on rooftop pads, and require you to wait and share. The AirCar LightSport is a personally owned aircraft, available whenever you want, and fully yours — while AirCar Aero currently carries a $100 million pre-money implied valuation compared with the billions poured into air taxi companies.

Nobody rides a bus because they love it.

Tesla was never about transportation. It was a trophy you could drive... proof you saw the future before your neighbors did.

But trophies wear off. There's a Tesla on every street now... your neighbor probably has one. Maybe two.

The next trophy has to do something no other car can.

It has to fly in the sky…

Grand View Research projects the eVTOL market will grow 550% to $28.6 billion by 2030. But you can't just build a plane and sell it...

The FAA has to sign off. And for years, there was no way to get that sign-off.

That changed in 2025, with a new rule called MOSAIC.

It's the FAA rule that opens a certification pathway for planes this size. And AirCar Aero designed its LightSport to meet it, with LSA certification targeted for 2027.

MOSAIC

The FAA rule that opens a certification pathway for planes this size — the AirCar  was designed to meet it, with LSA certification targeted for 2027.

Which brings up the obvious question. Does it work?

AirCar Aero has flown 10 full-scale prototypes on more than 1,000 manned test flights, with the founder personally piloting the fleet. It holds the U.S. “AirCar” trademark and is expanding to 20 patents by 2026. The aircraft is designed for the FAA's new MOSAIC category — a streamlined certification path with LSA certification targeted for 2027, about 30 hours of training, and no FAA license required for the single-seat and cargo drone models.

The company is opening its U.S. showroom in San Francisco in 2026, and has been featured in CNN, Wired, Euronews and Forbes.

Right now, it’s only $1.00 a share… and $967 gets you in.

That implies a $100M pre-money valuation... while Wall Street pays billions for the air taxi version of this future.

Think about what that $100 million implied valuation buys. Ten full-scale prototypes and 1,000+ manned test flights. The U.S. “AirCar” trademark, expanding to 20 patents by 2026. $25M in deposit-backed pre-orders. And first deliveries in 2026.

What a $100 million implied valuation buys

Ten full-scale prototypes flown on 1,000+ manned test flights, the U.S. “AirCar” trademark, expanding to 20 patents by 2026, a design built for the FAA's MOSAIC certification pathway, $25M in deposit-backed pre-orders, and first deliveries in 2026. That is the AirCar Aero pre-money implied valuation today — $100 million — while Wall Street has poured billions into air taxi companies.

Tesla's $17 became a quarter of a million dollars... for anyone who backed the future while everyone else waited and then called it luck.

This one is only $1.00….
